The CluedUp team comes from many diverse backgrounds including event management, performing arts, training, development and education.
Here is an overview of some of our team.
Nic Preddle
Director
Nic Preddle, Founder and Creative Director of CluedUp, combines his vast experience in event management, facilitation and training with an in-depth understanding of team and group dynamics and a passion for the performing arts. Prior to establishing CluedUp, Nic practiced law. Nic's enthusiasm and spontaneity draws teams together and ensures everyone has a great time while at the same time meeting their business event objectives.
Brian Gibb (Gibby)
Event Manager
Since gaining his BA in Theatre Studies at Otago University, Gibby has slowly made his way up the country. Alongside his strong acting ability Gibby brings with him a solid foundation in events, experience in the advertising industry and a creative flair for presenting! Gibby has worked for CluedUp since 2002 and now heads up our Auckland team. He is ready to help you make your next event a resounding success.
Jeremy Nelson
Jeremy is a trained actor who studied at the EIT in the Hawkes Bay and completed his LTCL Performers Diploma. He specialises in improvisation and is our 'go to guy' for our 'Energisers and Icebreakers'. Jeremy has travelled widely and has many years experience working in the insurance industry and other corporate areas. He has worked for CluedUp for over 12 years.
Malcolm Gillett
Malcolm is an experienced facilitator, trainer and actor. Born and raised in Tai Tokerau, Malcolm brings energy and intuition to everything that he does. He helps plan, prepare and deliver events, ensuring your big do runs smoothly. He holds a BA (Hons) in English, a Diploma in Secondary Schools teaching and a Certificate in Applied Arts (Technical Production in Theatre). He often uses all of these in a single event!
Giles McNeill
Giles' experience in film and multimedia are utilised in our events The Directors Cut and Breaking News. He is often behind the camera recording events or in the studio editing video, sound effects and music. When we need specialised props, that’s a job for Giles. He is also an accomplished musician, a remote controlled car expert and a seasoned actor, often performing in our murder mystery events.
Paul Stephanus
If you want to meet a person with exceptional skills in the outdoors and at the same time, an accomplished actor, writer and musician then Paul is your man. Born and raised in the USA, Paul holds many outdoor qualifications as well as a BA (Theatre) and a Postgrad Diploma in English. Paul fronts many of our teambuilding events where his passion for acting and teamwork really shines.
Liz Kirkman
Liz finished Uni with a BA (Hons) in Theatre and freelances as an actress from theatre for children to feature films and can be found teaching pilates, physical theatre and singing. She's worked with CluedUp since 2007 as a murderess, a remote control race car technician, an event organiser and doesn't mind being the one left to sort the storeroom!
Fergus Aitken
Fergus brings plenty of energy and creativity to match his extensive experience. Having performed visual and verbal comedy and theatre in over a dozen countries worldwide since 1984, Fergus has a broad skill base perfect for corporate events of all kinds. Fergus has created and played numerous characters from villians to royalty and as an accomplished MC he brings solid talent as a presenter for special occasions, from circus showcases to product launches.
Ben Legg
Ben trained at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts, and later completed his acting degree at UNITEC's School of Performing and Screen Arts. He went on to act in shows throughout NZ and Europe, run a theatre company in the UK, produce, direct, and teach drama. Ben has been bringing his passion for entertaining and love of the theatrical to CluedUp events since 2012.
Lisa Sorensen
Lisa hails from Scotland where she gained her BA (Hons) in Drama. After graduating she performed extensively in Europe and the UK, and worked as a drama teacher for Camp America. Now that she calls NZ home, Lisa continues to act, produce, and write for the stage and screen. Since 2012 Lisa has been bringing her unique brand of Scottish humour to CluedUp events and Murder Mysteries.
Fingal Pollock
Having spent the last 14 years working in professional theatre all over the world, Fingal brings an abundance of enthusiasm to every event. Her extensive experience in improvisation and public speaking, as well as event production and management, means that she can oversee the technical aspects of your event as well as being sure to bring all the charm and flair necessary to live up to her reputation as Hostess with the Mostess!
